Lea Health Application

Mobile application for users with hearing impairment, to train and to adjust their hearing aid

Lea app

The project

Lea Heath was a mobile app developed for users with hearing impairments. It supported both newcomers and experienced hearing aid users by offering guidance on using their devices and adjusting to life with hearing loss. The app included practical training, emotional support, and game-inspired features to keep users engaged. We also explored incorporating cognitive awareness tools to better support mental health that could be related to hearing loss.

My responsibilities

I began as the UX/UI designer, responsible for aesthetic, intuitive, and accessible design. I also took part in user research, interviewing audiologists, patients, their families, and testing prototypes with end-users. When cognitive health features were introduced, I collaborated with medical professionals to better understand related mental conditions. I worked closely with developers, presented design proposals and interactive prototypes, while staying in close contact with users to ensure the design met their real-world needs.

This was my first UX design role and one of the most challenging projects I’ve worked on so far. It was also incredibly rewarding as I felt I was making a real difference in people’s lives. It left me inspired to return to the medtech field in the future.
